About OFF GRID with DOUG and STACY:
We moved to our 11 acres in 2011 from a large city in the Midwest with zero carpentry and farming skills. We live with no solar / wind power / public water or well. We share our adventure to a sustainable life, growing our own food from vegetables to meat. We post videos DAILY and they range from HOW TO to EVERYDAY LIFE and NUTRITION on the off grid homestead. We were city folks just like you probably and wanted to enjoy life and have more control over our food. We share food recipes as well as natural remedies.

    1. I thought the same. Wondered how a farrier determines the angle and thought how an inexperienced farrier might create a problem for the horse. I’m a city girl but remember my riding days when I was in my teens.

    2. Toes are a bit long. Need to leave a little more heel and if they square off the toes in the back, he won’t kick as much dust up as he will be not dragging his toes.

    1. I can’t eat them…make my stomach cramp something fierce…but my hubby loves them shredded into a salad with equal part carrot, also shredded.

    1. I have my Ginzu knife from 1980…. and have sawed tree roots and branches…. can’t break it. Now i want to see if i can still slice tomatoes and bread. lol

  1. STACY: YOU’RE A HOOT! I WAS….going to say something about that knife, DARE I???? NOPE! You’re so funny, girl! 🙂 Shalom Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN 🙂

  2. Stacey, I’m glad to see you wearing a skirt that Heidi made for you. I love wearing skirts and dresses especially during the spring and summer. Your garden looks awesome. Mine is doing really well also. Mine is a little behind yours as we live in Michigan. Right now we are harvesting lettuce, spinach, beet greens and Swiss chard. Also, drying herbs for teas and use this winter besides using fresh. My favorite teas are mint/borage and lemon balm, lemon basil and lemon thyme. Cannot wait for summer produce to come in. Love your channel. I get a lot of hints from you. Take care.

  3. This is in NO way meant to be rude so PLEASE don’t take it that way but at time mark 5:58 when Doug is stating we get the poly carbonate panel, he sounds EXACTLY like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man… lol. I just thought I would share it because it really made me laugh out loud.
Love watching you guys and have learned (and used) many of your techniques, recipes, suggestions on being more self sufficent. Thank you for what you do!
