Penguins Argentina Puerto Madryn Punto Tombo Magellan Penguins Cruise to Antarctica Look Back Packable Backpack HIKPRO Where was I one year ago? Traveling to South America, Argentina, Uruguay, Antarctica. What a difference a year makes, with Covid 19 Coronavirus Pandemic lockdowns and travel is forbidden. Here is a look back at some of the penguins I saw on my trip to South America and Antarctica. Thank goodness I traveled when I did, as who knows when this kind of adventure will be allowed again.
Located outside Puerto Madryn, Argentina, Punto Tombo nature reserve is home to over 1.2 million penguins who, between the months of September and March, return to this same part of the world every year to mate. Punta Tombo is the biggest Magellanic penguin colony in the world. There is no other penguins settlement of this size which can be easily accessed, so it’s a great place to get up close with penguins.
